300 Coffman Block Redevelopment Feasibility Charrette
Project Description
The Elks Lodge at 3rd and Coffman in Longmont, CO decided it was time to explore its options and asked the city to facilitate a discussion with adjacent property owners to see if there was any interest in working together to redevelop the majority of the properties on both sides of the block, including two large parcels that are currently owned by the city and operated as parking lots.
Mark Leese co-facilitated a half-day charrette that included all of the property owners on the block as participants. The work product included an array of options, evaluation criteria, and a ranking of the options in terms of desirability from a developer’s perspective, ease of implementation, and perceived community acceptance. An outcome was that there was a high level of interest on the part of adjacent property owners.
