Project Description
The objective of this project was to develop a transit-oriented development plan for the area surrounding the Northglenn/112th Avenue commuter rail station. The study area straddles two jurisdictions, Northglenn and Thornton, requiring coordination between two sets of planning, public works, parks and recreation, and economic development staffs, two city managers, and two city councils. The project studied the redevelopment potential of a portion of an industrial park, the repositioning of the industrial park within the region, development of residential on properties that are bisected by substantial drainage-ways, and alternative development mechanisms for a key “catalyst” site at the intersection of York and 112th Avenue.
Mark Leese’s Role
Mark Leese was the project manager for the consultant team and provided transit-oriented development planning and urban design.
