Project Description
Sloan’s Lake Park is Denver’s second largest urban park and its acquisition and development began around 1910. The boat house and marina were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930’s. The City has a vision of a beautiful and exciting, yet functional marina to take advantage of this wonderful site on the north side of Sloan’s Lake Park.
The new marina provides secure docking and/or mooring space a number of small boats, a promenade for sitting and walking, an open pavilion under which to picnic or enjoy the view. The historic Boat House was restored as a community and boating related facility. The drawing below is of one of the alternative designs developed by Mark Leese, while with a previous firm, for the pavilion at the end of the jetty.
